Having just started coaching people in their pursuits of physique transformation, I'm super excited to share my first client testimonial! Shannon was one of my first athletes to come on board, and she came to me wanting to really improve her leg strength - specifically in the squat. While not one of her primary objectives, I also encouraged her to consider taking a very methodical approach to her nutrition, so that we could fuel her training and maximize her metabolism along the way. Having been someone who was already tracking her macros, she was all for it, so these were our two goals.
Across our first 12 week cycle together, she had INCREDIBLE results. Before we started, she was squatting 95 pounds for 10 reps, and on her final training day of that cycle, these were her four working sets:
Set #1: 120 x 4
Set #2: 130 x 4
Set #3: 125 x 4
Set #4: 130 x 10
So, she basically increased her squat from 95 for 10 to 130 for 10, after having already done some HEAVY sets!!!
On the nutritional side, she started at a body weight of 125 consuming 275g of carbs per day. After about 20 weeks (one full cycle and more than halfway through the second), she was at a body weight of 126 consuming 355g of carbs per day! During this 'Reverse Diet' we added 80 grams of carbs to her daily intake, with effectively no change to her body weight. In other words, we primed and maximized her metabolism and significantly expanded her metabolic capacity.
